It depends.
What type of refridgerant is in the system now, R12 or R134a?
If its R12 and empty or very close to being empty get a retrofit kit and a can of stop leak-oil-leak detector. The kit comes with all the information, fittings and other parts needed to retrofit and refill a system. Its always best to replace the orafice tube then pull vaccum on the system -5psi for 15 minutes before charging but its not always nessasary.
If you want step by step how to instuctions just ask. It takes about ten minutes to type it all out but I could hook you up.
