Manual Trans Temperature

I bought a Tremec TKO not long ago. My friend noticed the other day that the steel shifter handle was getting pretty hot to the touch. What is the approximate operating temperature of a manual transmission?

I'm not exactly sure the exact operating temp, but they are very low. Usually when a manual gets hot it means that there's more friction present, maybe because of the use of an inferior oil or low oil levels.

I know my T-5 would get hot after a few hard passes down my favorite road. All I know is it was warmer than the temp of my had so I am guessing 120 plus F? Did you email Fortes or where ever you got the trans?
