coolant to water ratio
what ratio of coolant to water do you run. should it be like a 50-50 mix or like a 30-70 i have no idea. i put to much coolant in now its overheating.
Usually 50:50 is suggested but other ratios are acceptable. The "active ingredient", the thing that does the heat transfering, is the water. The glycol is just there to prevent freezing and raise the boiling point (also pressure). Using more water will result in a mixture which pumps easier and transfers heat better. Using more glycol will give you a thicker mixture with a higher boiling point and lower freezing point and more corrosion protection. Using 100% glycol is not good. So, it depends on what you're looking for and your climate. 50:50 is a good compromise.
PS. Use distilled water, not tap water, and you'll have less chance of getting mineral deposits in your radiator.
