be happy that your engine runs that cool, im trying to get my stock LO3 down off of 240 going down the highway. 210-220 all day on a hot one is pretty reasonible to me.

I can tell you from experiance that it's not the LT1 intakes fault.
I too run a 383 stroker and get up to 220° - 230° even before the LT1 intake swap. I was traditional LTR at that time.
I swapped to the LT1 intake and still run the same temps.
I am in the process of installing Griffins BIGGEST radiator, a dual 1 1/4" tube universal.
If I still run hot then the A/C condenser is coming out!

ditto
i was headfing down the cooling system war path, thinking that the fan worked because it came on when i flipped the manual switch. turns out that when the engine reached OT, the fan was reduced to a crawl, fans can suffer from heat soak, consider it.

what octane gas are you running? with a 10.4 to 1 compression you need better than 92 I would see if you can find some 94 and maybe a bottle of octane boost might help. I have a 10-1 compression on my 327 with alum. heads and intake which I run with 12 degress advance and I think 34 total advance. I know with anything higher than 10-1 you need better than pump gas or you get detionation which = overheat or hight temps. also you could retard your time to make up for it, but as you know you wont get as much power. Up here in New England area I know Sunoco sells 94 octane but I dont know if they have it where you are, but you can get 87 and a bottle of octane boost brings it up to 104 and thats probally cheaper plus it works for 2 tankfuls Hope it helps... Sounds like you have enough air and a good enough thermostat, i dont know what to tell you, maybe someone else does. Is that the temp when you are riding down the road or sitting in traffic?Have you made sure that your gauge is accurate?
