Changing Stock Electric fan
I have a 91 305 tbi and want to change from my stock electric fan to a higher cfm 16" electric fan. Can I just cut the two factory fan motor wires and connect the new fan wires to it using the same factory relay? I'm getting a "Perma Cool" 16" electric fan that flows 2950 cfm of air and draws 9.5 amps.
Is that fan going to bolt right on without any modifications other than the wiring? Will that fan in there? IT sounds a little big. The reason I am asking is because I too have a 91 RS with the single fan. If you don't encounter any problems with this setup, then I might also look into changing my fan.

I did a search on "Perma Cool Fans" and found that their claims and quality were lacking to say the least.
Your better off getting stock IROC dual fans for around $150 used complete kit.

Thanks John Millican, I'll see if I can find that fan setup around my area. I almost ordered the Perma Cool fan this morning. Also, can I use my Single Fans Relay for the Dual Fan setup? Or do I have to change to a stronger Relay for the Dual Fan setup?

I have perma-cool fans on my car and they seem to work well. They do flow alot more CFM than the old ones exept when you use them as a pusher. They say somthing like only 80% efficiency as a pusher but it seems more like 60% to me. The relay switch I got from them was pretty cool you can connect two fans to the one relay wich would probably work good for you.

After much research, I ordered the Perma Cool 16" electric fan. I'll post pictures after I install it.
