motor swap and overheating
after doing a 305 to 350 swap useing same heads and intake with the tbi. car is over heating i checked the timeing 3 times and it's all good i went to auto zone and got a 3 core radiator and a 160*thermostat new elc.fan and still over heating now my ? is can i bypass the heator core and run the line from the intake to the radiator will that help and take of that black valve that hook's to the heater core lines sorry i dont know the name of that valve. oh yeah i have a new radiator cap too .let me know
it hit's 260 in like 10 min of idel and i shut it down water pump has good flow from what i can tell. my brother said to pull the hose off the heater core and fill the system from the hose and it will get all the air out of the system is this true?
Once it totally cools down, take the rad. cap off and start it up. Once the t-stat opens up, the fluid level tends to drop. Fill it up w/ it running, after the t-stat opens.
