What the crap? My car is, I think, too hot

So check this out. I can't figure it out. My car seems to run to hot in the summer time. I live in Texas so summers KILL my car and it's pissin' me off that I can't keep it cool.

This is the problem. My car does fine when I'm driving around (40mph+) but when I'm going slow or even worse, stopped in traffic, the car seems to want to explode because of the heat. Now, I've only had it overheat twice on me because now I take percausions to keep it cool. SO, I would like to know WHY it is getting so hot and how can I stop it!

I've had the radiator checked out by pros. It's fine. I've replaced the water pump, thermostate, and flushed the rad and added new fluid. I drive a 92 RS just in case you need to know.

Now, I haven't checked the sensors yet, but they seem to be fine cause the fans come on when its starts to heat up and when the A/C is on. So everything SEEMS to be working. With that said, why would it keep getting so hot (inches toward 260 when sitting but fans are on)? Everything looks like its working so what else should I do? Is there any add-ons I could do that would help cool it down?

Thanks for the help...sorry I wrote a book.

what percentage of water and coolant(antifreeze) are you running? you said the radiator has been checked so i assume you took it out and have checked to make sure there isnt a bunch of crap in front of the condenser and between the condenser and the radiator. might want to flush out the system too.

In the summer time I usually run about 85-90% water and the rest antifreeze. Not much use for antifreeze in 100 degree weather except to keep the radiator from rusting.

Most antifreeze is also anti-boil so keep the 50/50 mixture, and if you can stand it, if you've got T-tops, take them off and turn the heat on. Also make sure your fan is hooked up right. Do you have the fan shroud? I didn't have mine and someone who owned the car before me mounted the fan directly onto the radiator and it wasn't doing it's job like it's supposed to.
