What's a normal temp for an L69 ?

What's a normal temp for an L69 ? My 84 runs at exactly 220-225 no matter what, is that too hot? That's without the A/C running.

Also when I go to start it a minute or so after I've shut it off, the temp is at like almost 240 then it goes back down after running the car for a minute. Should I leave the key on to run the fan for like 5 mintues when I park or will this not hurt the engine?

Will going to like a 160 thermostat screw with the L69's computer too much like it would on a TPI motor?

Thanks, well the last couple of days it's been getting up to almost 230-240 and now it's freaking me out so before I drive it anymore I'm going to replace the thermostat with a 160 and flush the cooling system....

mines the same way, after a flush its usually at 220, maybe 230 in traffic, rarely 240, but i think the best way to get it cooler would be about a 170-180 stat and a 190-200 fan switch since our fan doesnt turn on till it gets to 230
