my a/c shuts off when i press the gas. need help i'm burning up

 

The compressor turns off when you hit the gas, or the blower stops blowing air?

 

The blower stops blowing. I think it's a vacuum problem.

 

The blower isn't run by vacuum, it runs from electricity. Does the air stop coming from the vents and start coming from another location(like the defroster)?

 

air stops completely. doesnt blow out any vents.

Oops, my fault. All of the air is redirected to the defroster vents.

 

check the vacuum lines goin from the firewall to the back of the motor. I had that happen to me. I was only gettin air out the defroster, i pullede the lines off the plenum and blew into them and i heard the leak behind the block. That was very painful squeezing my hand in there to fit the tubing over the hard line. Turned out the hard line snapped. ( cheap crap) The car also idled much better after that.
