Fan Question
Fan Question
Ever since I had my AC converted to the new R34, my fan stays on everytime I have the AC on. Today while driving, my temperature shot up to red. I turned on my AC and noted the fan not working. I pulled on the wire harness connected to the fan motor and the fan turned on. I drove back home and inspected the wire harness. I discovered that the connector to the fan motor had melted a bit. I pulled it off the fan motor and cleaned out the connector and reconnected it. The fan now works fine for now. My question is....is that a sign that my motor is burning out, or is there another problem that the connector almost melted out.

Sounds like it could be one of two things going on; either your cooling fan motor is pulling too much amperage (signalling a motor going bad) or the electrical connector has high resistance (dirty, broken wires, etc). Run the cooling fan for a while and then shut the car off and unplug the connector and see if it is still getting hot. Sounds like it might have just been dirty.
