What's your problem? Those brackets are useful information because all our cars have air dams (or should) and he is showing us how he is setting up his. This might be a very good idea for those who lost their air dam and they might want to try his way of doing it. So why don't you just chill out a little. Geez

i am going to get longer screws/bolts for it. and use the stock air dam for now. although i could easily just buy a sheet of metal and use that. my car is going to the shop so....... it might be a while

I made brackets out of that adjustable strap stuff that has pre drilled holes in it. I bent them to push the air dam forward and they bend when I scrap, just means I have to go under and push them back into shape.

Sounds like a plan. I'd worry about the supports in the original post being too strong. When the air dam gets bent back on a curb, it could damage the attachment points for the brackets. Also, the ones in the pictures look like they're at 90°. I believe a new air dam is raked slightly forward to be more effective. Mine has taken on a curve over time, raked forward at the top and back at the bottom. There is actually a notch in the reinforcing at each end, allowing it to bend back instead of straining the attachment points at the top.

My computer should be up and going in about two days, so you will have to wait till then to get pics. I installed a metal air dam. But instead of going with a 90* bend I went more of a 75* ish. But to make up for the angle and shortness, I just made the metal longer. But right now I am having an overheating problem!! I think it is my thermo stat, will find out this weekend. I bought a 195*, but for the summer I think I will run a 180*. And luck with the metal straps? Are they installed? Any improvements?

Just because they have a lot of posts doesn't mean those weren't wastes of server space(see: Mark A. Shields)

I didn't know the air dam had some special mounts to make it work, but good job using the right parts for the job!

Body shops will do that! they also will remove the cover that goes from the rad to the nose where the hood latch is and they won't put it back on.

I took my airdamn off myself.

Yea well so far the car runs fine without one. Never goes over 215 and with my stop and go driving most of the time the fan is on and the car runs at 190. I am still going to get one as soon I can find a really cheap one.

Brody, are you going to use those to reinforce the dam from the rear side of it? remember what the dam mounts to. the stock setup if the dam is struck will distort the mounting holes for the fasteners. you might wanna think twice, it's got to have some movement otherwise it's going to rip right out if you hit it.

Well still no pics yet, but it turns out to have been my thermo. It went bad in only one year. Well the 195* is in it with my home made air dam, and on hte highway I have yet to turn on my fan!! By the way if your thermostat locks up in the closed postition, your motor will get to about 240ish!!! No I can do 85 and never worry. Hopefully the pics will be up here by the end of the week.

Yes It does! I built it in two halves, so I can unbolt the bent bottom half, and replace it. Either that or I just bend it forwards a bit more. Doesn't half do the job tho'.
