Overflow Bottles

Anyone know if a smaller V-6 coolant overflow bottle would be sufficient for a 305 V-8?

Overflow bottle (in theory) should only be less than half full under normal conditions, unless there is an overheating issue, in which case it's going to eventually overfill and spew anyway.

My idea was to use a smaller bottle, thus allowing more room to run an additional cold air intake hose to my air cleaner.

Any thoughts appreciated.

i don't see why it wouldn't work. as long as ur cooling system was opperating efficiently and u had no leaks.. the only problem i see. is a v-8 needed more room in the overflow due to a larger cooling system capicity.. but i would think it would work out fine. just keep an eye on it.

yeah i dont see a problem just make sure full cold is at the very bottom of the bottle enough to just see it... and see how that works. when you get to your full operating temp take a look and see how far the full hot is.. and then work with that..
