air in the system

i have a 87 iroc tpi and the oil pressure drops dramaticly when the water temp goes up and the oil pressure drops even more when i put the car into a gear, I was told by danno to bleed the air out of my system, but there is only one problem, i don't know how to do that. If any could tell me how to bleed the air out of the system it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

the radiator cap is the highest point on ur cooling system. so after running ur car for a few heat up\cool down cycles. all the air should make its way up to ur radiator cap and out. if u pull off ur cap and there is water all the way up to the top. then air isn't ur problem..

i foudn that the absolute best way to do this without burnign the s**t outta your hand is to buy a new radiator cap that has the little lever on it that u can lift up to let some stuff escape.. it sliek 6 bucks and i think the one i bought was 16lbs.

It's normal to some extent for oil pressure to drop after the car warms up to temp. On a cold start mine idles close to 60 lbs oil pressure and as it wams up drops to about half that. I have also to factor in idle speed. The other guy is right, get a Stant Lever vent cap if you want, or with the engine cold take off the cap and rev it slightly up and down. You will see bubbles at the opening as the air escapes. Top off the coolant close it up then use your recovery bottle to maintain the correct level of coolant.
