Help! What Went Wrong?
ok... heres the gist. my car wasnt warming up it was staying about 130 so i went checked my thermostat, i forgot to put it back in when i did my swap. so i put one in. about an hour of driving around my car overheats and my heater contol valve explodes... yes! it EXPLODED! out of the middle of no where. ok so i replaced my heater control valve and everything is running great! my car is running at 190, running perfectly fine for a day and a half! coming back into my neighbor hood my temp gauge droped to the 100 mark for no reason?
i hooked it up to WINAlDL and started to drive around the temp just continued to climb and got up to 250! what do u think happened? did my waterpump just go out? would the water pump going out cause my gauge to stop working? is there more than one temp sending unit? what the hell is causing my camaro to overheat? does the temp sending unit control anything else besides the gauge?

I dont think your actual temp went up to 250 I think you have air in your system. That would explain the drop then rise scenerio.
