All of the local auto parts stores seem to only carry the lower hoses that don't have the spring inside. Am i forced to go to the dealer to get a hose with a spring? Any replies appreciated.

Yep. Tried NAPA, Auto Zone, Advance auto, O'reiley's. Does the hose from the dealer even have the spring inside?

well, if u have no air\leaks in the cooling system then you shouldn't have to worry about needing the hose with the spring in it. I don't have one on my car and haven't for the passed 2 years and have never had cooling problems when driving the car hard, even here in tx. if u can find one then all the better. but if not then don't worry about it..

i could of swore about 2 years ago i went to my local store (pep boys) at my old house and bought a lower rad. hose that had a spring in it.. i guess the hose just needs to be thicker rubber and it wont tend to collapse i guess..

Try a performance shop. Me thinks Goodyear makes reinforced upper and lower hoses to fit the TG's. The OE hoses from GMSPO are also made by Goodyear so if you go that route you will get a quality item.
