Okay 89 tpi350. at idle only does it start to get WAY hot. fans are on, water pump and radiator are new. im losing coolant, but im not leaking it or burning it, wtf?

 

Did you look at the oil? If it is milky coolant is getting into it. A very common problem is the intake manifold gasket leaking around the front coolant passage into the lifter valley. It also causes a pressure drop in the cooling system causing overheating. Do a pressure test or have it done, it's the best way to troubleshoot a problem like yours.
