Engine Oil Cooler... *engine cleanup*
Do I really need this engine oil cooler that many people think keeps your car a little warmer?
I'm doing the A/C Delete.. and havn't decided if I am going to move the heater valve out of the way, or remove it.
So I was wondering if I can just yank the oil cooler lines and stuff.

Couple of things regarding that. Factory oil fill was a 5-30wt and that is the recommended viscosity. In hot weather 5 wt is fairly light and without the use of a cooler consumption would be high. If you want to clean up the lines my suggestion is to use synthetic oil. GM dumped the cooler on the vettes and made Mobil1 the factory fill. Synthetic has a higher flash point thereby reducing consumption. If you dump the cooler and run conventional oil even with a 10-30 you may see a lot of thinning when the engine reaches temp.

Good to know. It's the least of my space taking up so I think I may leave that one in. Thanks!
I usually run 10w 30 or 10w 40
