cooling tip for 82-84 Trans Am's

when I bought my 84 Trans Am it overheated all the time even when driving. the airdam was gone so of course I bought one and put it on but I also tried replacing the Trans Am grills with Firebird grills. they don't have much of an opening but they DO!!! make a dif and since I bought my car 5 years ago I have put in a 383 stroker and I wouldn't change out those Firebird grills out for nothing. some of you should try it, you'll be surprised!!!!!

id do it but the 84 t/a grilles just look so cool, but my car runs at a good temp anyway, i think the electric fan waiting till 230* to turn on is what kills us the most

So put in a 180 stat and a Jet (or other brand) fan switch that will turn fan On 200/ Off 185. The switch was about $45 at Summit, the stat is only a couple bucks at any parts store.
