biggest radiator anyone has put in a third gen ?
so for bragging or whatever rights: what is the largest stock gm/harrison copper radiator that anyone has put into a third gen to date ? im planning on sbc400 th400 drivetrain install into the 82 t/a and am contemplating in my head- without actually measuring yet- about what radiator(s) could be made to fit in the rad support of the car with some or maybe alot of cutting/trimming/modifications that need be necessary without affecting structural integrity of the front clip
any pointers or info or tips or pics or links would be great, i was thinking mayb one of the three core stock copper radiators i have around from 67-72 gm trucks maybe could get in the car since is about 3" shorter than the 73-up truck rads, is basically/identically same size as a B-body radiator '77-'91
thanks for anything

I don't know how much it will help because I don't know what it came out off...
It's a 3 row high efficiency with rather huge tanks. I had to hammer the subframe to get it to slide in, then modify the mounts to fit the thicker tanks. It's been running cool since then(9 years know
)
Get the measurements that will fit, and head to the junkyard.

so your radiator fits tight from tank to tank in your car ?
whats width from tank seam to tank seam on it ? that would be coool if you could grab that measurement if you had time to
thanks

Overall width seems to be about 30 3/4. Tank thickness(front to rear) is a little more than 2 1/2. From seam to seam(the core width I think it's called) is about 26 3/4. It works well for me
my little brother has a thirdgen also... ( a little bit of rivalry)... but he just replaced his radiator... he says it's out of an HD suburban... 4 core... but I'm not sure... It's pretty huge though...
