Car Still Overheats!!!!
Ok, I used to have a stock dual fan setup on my 89 formula, someone removed it in favor of a single aftermarket electric fan that was rigged up through the secondary fan relay. Upon finding this I disconnected the fan from that relay and wired it straight to my cooling heating fan fuse on the fuse block. That way it comes on any time the key is on. Any way it cooled down a bit better, with a 180 stat, but right now its about 100 degrees here in MO, and when i sit in traffic for a while the temp still rises, just not as fast, aside from a new radiator(be cool, etc...), does anyone know if another pusher fan on the other side of the radiator/condensor assembly working with the current puller fan I have will help to keep that cool? I can't mount another puller fan on the inside of the radiator because the aftermarket fan mounted there is too big to fit another next to it. Also, if this works, which I think it'd act like the stock fans if I ran it back into the relays, can i use a fan switch and be better off?

my car use to heat up, never did anything but hooked up my aftermarket from the sensor to a toggle switch, and that cured my problem.
and doing it was a snap.

You've already done the basics right? Checked the thermostat, hoses, and flushed the system? If so and you still have this problem, I'd look at a different fan setup. I've got a 350 TPI that someone had removed the dual stock setup and put in a single fan. It was a real P.O.S. so I replaced it with a dual SPAL setup. It is a little pricey, but it cools my engine better than I expected. This is with a stock replacement Modine radiator as well. What brand of fan is in your car now?

I'm not sure what brand the fan is,butIknow it sucks!!! I flushed the radiator and changed the stat with a 180 degree about 3 months ago, did it professionally at work. Where can I find that SPAL setup??

Ok, I have a single fan on the fuseblock, it runs ALL the time, my car will easily overheat in the city.

my friend installed a small pusher fan n it didn't seem to help at all.
How about the passages in the water pump or even a bigger water pump to flow more water?
could it be you have a creation or air pockets somehow that is causing a bad flow, a clog in the radiator or something infront to prevent cfm flow?

I have single puller fan setup wired to my fuze block so that it turns on with the key.
The car never overheats when the A/C is off.
But when I turn on the A/C it sometimes overheats in stop & go traffic.
I put another small fan in front of the radiator and condensor on the passenger side connected to a toggle switch.
I turn it on if the car starts heating up.
It keeps the temps down to 180 at all times.

Thanx for the help guys, I'll be putting another electric fan on the other side on the A/c condensor, I figured it'd cool down a lot better. I'll keep you all posted.

Put in an aluminum radiator and a good fan. Trust me. I did to mine last year. Modine around $140 at Napa. I have the one huge fan that came with the 84 ta's. I put in a 160 degree sensor and have it switched so I can override it. Never have to though. I also changed the fan motor. You can feel the fan from like 4 feet behind the car lol. Aluminum radiator makes a great difference. Trust me. The best investment I made for the cooling system.
