Hi i'm looking at getting an 84 ho z28 but the heater coil is more then likly fubar SO how hard is the replacement of it in the 3rd gens?? i know some cars requir the whole dash out while others have 'flaps' straight to it,

can some one help me quickly?? i need to know soon so i can decide if i want this one or not! thanx!!

Hi, Welcome to the the boards!
It is actually called a heater core, and the dash does have to come apart. It is nothing I would consider a deal breaker when buying a car if the price was right.
Use the search icon on the top of this screen and type in heater core on the search screen then check in titles only, there is alot of info already posted in detail on how to replace them.

oop! yeah i ment core i've just got coils on the brain atm.

see the main sticker is the fact i'm in australia an i'm already forking out quite a bit for it and it has quite a few misc problems although it is almost the perfect combination of thing for me if u know what i mean.

too list a few of the probs theres:
AC is stuffed (possible compressor gone)
the heater (probable core which is needed 4 the road worthy)
leaky rear left hand capiler
vacum leaks around the carb
power steering leaks (possible return hose)
could do with a new shifter
a few trim things

its a 84 ho z28 5speed 305 black with t-tops and grey leather its also been converted to right hand drive (aust standard) and he wants 15000 aud (7500ish us?) though the right hand drive conversion is around 6-10,000 aud so its good but i donno bit worried about getting screwed. even tho appart from the problems mentioned its in good nic...
