14 Inch Fans Too Big For Stock Rad?

I ordered two electric fans for my 5.7 '89 IROC a little more than a month ago. I wanted the perma-cool high performance 12 inch fans, since some on this board have used and loved them. Well I've about had it with waiting for them. Damned backorder! Anyway... would it be possible to use two 14 inch fans instead and just mount them staggered, or would that just be too big? Hell, they flow 2950 cfm EACH!

Well, here's a 20 second photo edit of what a stock radiator would look like with dual 12" Perma Cools staggered and pushed out to the corners, to give you an idea of how much space is left.
The original photo belongs to GKK and can be found at this thread:

whoops
shroud would certainly have to be modified, and some room left for the bottom support.

I'm using the two 14" Perma Cool fans on the stock radiator on my 92 RS.
It's a tight fit, but they're in there. I removed the stock shroud/fan mount. I also had to lose the power steering loop (under the radiator) and trim one leg off the driver's side fan mount to clear the steering box.
My digital camera is with a friend in Hawaii, but I'll look for an existing pic later today.

That would be great if you had a picture of that to show me! How do those fans work for you? I may already be ahead of the ballgame since I have no lower shroud or mounting points for a fan. (long story)

I just recieved an email from Perma-Cool today. They won't be shipping their fans until the 15th of June! I've already been waiting a month and a half, I guess two more weeks won't kill me.
