R4 ac compressor
I 87 GTA and I was wondering is there any differance between the a/c compressor on fuel injected cars and carburated cars? The reason I ask is there is about $50.00 differance in price but the look the same.

its not whether its carb or efi. In 87 or 88 the belt system was changed from a v-belt over to serpentine, and the compressor was moved from the drivers side to the passenger side. So the brackets and mounting points are more than likely a little diffrent. Get the compressor that is for your year and motor.

Thanks for the reply. in 87 both carburated and fuel injected had v belts. looking at the compressor for the carburated, it looks the same as mine, I couln't figure out why the compressors look identicle but have such a price difference.
