normal operating temp?
normal operating temp?
ok so, i have 1 gallon of antifreeze in this , a new --oem -- radiator. flushed the hell out of it today and added antifreeze.....now, it gets hot quick...wtf?
how can i prevent this?
basicly, what im asking is, how can i get my car to run as cool as possible at all times, ...the winters here never get below 20, and thatll be like one night out of the entire winter, most nights its 30 , thats it.
oem water pump is in it as well.
so now you have the facts, give me the solutions lol

OH and whats a GOOD way to flush , heres what i did, ...took the engine temp sensor out of the drivers side head, took the cap off of the radiator, stuck a hose in the radiator, cranked the car, let it run with the heat on for 5 mins.
any better ways to do this or is that a good way
ty once again

You probably have air in the system. I take it this heat problem started after you replaced the radiator or was that why you did it? Thats important to know. For flushing get a Prestone kit. Then take out the stat replace the housing back on the engine and follow kit instructions. I have found that using a chemical flush agent is also a good way to get out crud. Prestone also make that and GM recommends it as the best way to clean the cooling system. To bleed off air, when its cold take off the rad cap start the engine and slowly rev it a little then back off. The coolant will suck down then rise along with trapped air. Repeat this several times the rev it a little hold it there then top off the rad and replace the cap. Top off the recovery bottle as needed over the next week or so as the system requires.
well, i didnt use any chemical agents to flus, but i did however take the cap off and slowly rev it after i flushed it --before i read this-- .....im about to ditch the coolant, run pure water with some water wetter and a rust protectant for the water pump and straight wire the fan to a fuse that only carrys current when the key is turned . this outta help.
