this will stump you all

NOTE: yes this was placed in general as well, but i need all the help i can get

ok so...when i run the a/c, in stop and go traffic in the city for lets say 2 hours, the car will bog down, cut off, start back up and slow rev, VERY slow rev, bog down, and die.

yes, injectors are brand new, fuel pump is new, this seems to be a fuel delivery issue, fuel pump possibly?

i can dog the bejesus outta thee car all day long but if i run the a/c i stop and go traffic, this happens.

IAC is new, whole ignition is new, set correctly. fuel filter is new.

air filter isnt clogged. ECM is new as well.
PROM is good. map is new. TPS is the ony sensor that i can see that isnt new.

before i haul off and but a tps and a fuel pump, ANY suggestions?

dont tell me to check the fuel pressure either because this is seriously a random occurance thing, and the fuel pressure guage costs twic as much than the fuel pump lol.

PLEASE help, this is killin me and my brain, i cant think any more, and have no idea wtf this could be

could the clutch on the compressor be siezing?

the belts arent squeeling at all.

i dont know about your car or newer cars but on my older ones there is a throttle bump that kicks up the idle speed when the ac is turned on. could be that the extra strain placed by the ac is trying to kill the engine when the engine speed is low.

the car seriously acts like its running lean/rich as hell and dies, anything that tells the car to run more lean/rich when the a/c is on??

iac was new til i broke it, put the old back in.
who knew those suckers didnt take much torque to break in half.

over tightened it , and well, the threads broke off inside the tbi ...

i spent an hour with various screw drivers and a hammer wedging the screwdriver against the broke off piece trying to get it out.. luckily, it did, no harm was done other than a trashed iac.

oh well, this was awhile back anyways.

im not sure if this is a heat related issue or the a/c doing something.

seeing how it only does it when the a/c is on, it may very well jus mean it does it only when its hot outside.

Just an uneducated guess, how about an overheating catalytic converter.. When mine was going bad, the car would run normally until the throttle was heavily pressed and then the power would go away dramatically. This proceeded to get worse and worse until the thing would barely run.

Dudeman,
I think you answered your own question.

You drive around in stop and go traffic, the A/C is adding heat to the radiator from the condenser, the car gets hot, fuel gets hot, fuel tries to boil in the fuel lines, fuel pump not providing enough pressure to keep fuel in liquid state, Bingo, vapor lock.

First check fuel line routing, make sure it isn't near/against anything that would make it abnormally hot.

Second, plumb in a fuel pressure guage in the engine compartment, and check fuel pressure. You can make a suitable assembly for less than 20 bucks. I did when I was checking out my 82 Berlinetta with the 2.5l motor.
You should have 9-13psi.

Just my opinion, and I could be wrong.
