running damn near 250
my car is running near 250 at its coolest in traffic but will cool down a few on the e-way, i have the fans on a switch and they both turn on and i need them running at all times in traffic to keep the car from over heating, i have flushed the system and used some stuff that supposed to make the car run cooler and have some oil additive that makes it run cooler, but it still runs hot no matter what, the only way it cools down is with the heat running full blast and then it cools to about 210, i have a 180 stat, will a 160 make it run cooler? or is it somethign else??

If I coulda done that to make it home, that woulda been smart, instead I paid a crap load of money to get a new fan motor put in, in bellingham... oh well..
next time I'll remeber to turn the heat on full, and maybe it''ll stay cool....

A cooler thermostat won't help you here... You have something engine related causing you to run that hot... Check timing, radiator cap, etc...
