Weird problem

When I drive my car, it runs fine. The temp stays at 170-180 all the time.'

When I stop my car for a extended preiod of time, my hoses get sucked flat. I pull the cap off and the coolant looks low, but after a second or two, the hoses come back to shape, and the coolant level comes up.

Thermostat is new 180* AC Delco unit that I drilled a small hole in it.

When the car is running is doesn't do it, only when I shut it off and leave it off for awhile.

Ideas?
