Help!

Ok, so I've been having problems with keeping my car cool. I've heard that my fan should come on at 225 degrees, but it comes on at 240, way too hot. I went the auto parts store and the guy said because its summer, its normal for this to happen. I'm pretty sure its not. I was thinking about buying a jet fan switch, but it says for dual fan applications only. According to pontiac, my car should only have one fan. SO, what can i do? Is it safe to install the Jet Switch, or should I convert to dual fans and then buy the switch?

PS- its an 86 Trans Am 305 TPI, A/C, single fan. And I have already replaced the coolant temperature sending unit.

You can install the switch. It just means it's heavy-duty enough to handle 2 fans. I'd definately go to a 2-fan setup. You should be able to get all the stuff from a dealer, Junk yard, or a great place to check is E-bay. Search on 82-92 Camaro (my favorite) Oh, it sounds like your switch is fried. It should come on at the rated temp regardless of the outside temp.
