89 Formula leaks Antifreeze, not heater core or radiator

It looks like one of the hozes is leaking by the Overflow tank. I do not know which hose it is. It could be the overflow tank is cracked or something. My problem is that I don't have any hose diagrams to see where the hoses go by the overflow tank. If anyone has an idea of what might be wrong or a diagram of the hoses and overflow tank it would be helpful. If it helps, it leaks on the right side if you are facing the front of the engine right on the frame.

it could be the upper or lower heater hose, mine did that, annoying

ill email you a picture of my engine with the hose i replaced, to see if thats the one you have a leak on.

Did you check your water pump? There's a small weep hole at the bottom of it that leaks coolant when the seals go bad. When it happened to me, I didn't think the water pump at first cause it was kinda leaking towards the passenger side of the car, but what was happening was, it was coming out of the pump and running down the lowers coolant hose towards the rad at the bottom.

I know it's not the waterpump, because it went bad on my Camaro(it leaked because the bearings inside wore out). It leaks right next to the overflow tank, and it doesn't overheat or lose fluid in the radiator. I found it out when I popped the hood and saw the overflow tank was empty. So naturally I filled it with antifreeze. About 5 min later the antifreeze was leaking from what looked like it was comming from the overflow tank and dripping off the frame. So I'm pretty sure its a return hose to the overflow tank or something, but if somebody had like a diagram of the hoses and overflow tank it would be helpful. I can't find it in my camaro chilton repair manual.

the over flow tank has a hole or the hose has a hole, from what you describe, take it off and look at it

yeah it could be cracked where u cant see it, its only two bolts that hold it to the body. you could try to epoxy it if the plastic is cracked.

Just don't forget that if you go to take it off, one of the bolts that holds it on is in the wheel well.

i know it took a while, but I've finally gotten the overflow tank off. This is the first time in about two years that I got a day off work on the weekend, so I spent it doing work on the car. The previous owner tried to fix a huge crack at the bottom of the overflow tank. You can get one on ebay for like $20. the wierd thing was that he spent the time to get the tank off, why didn't he replace it? The thing obviously had a leak, so for now I've got to find an overflow tank. If anyone in the Chicago suburbs has got one, I'll pick it up and will pay$. If not there's always Ebay.

well, lost the auction, but epoxy and fiberglass did a good job of sealing it up.
