found a hole in my manifold, what the @#$% is it for, if anything?
what is going on!
my car is shooting coolant(see pics below)
region of the discharge, intake manifold behiend carb, on drivers side of distributor.
it shoot like a large watter gun and is pressureized, dose the mean my manifold is broken? i think not but im askingwhat channels coolant in that area of the engine i have no idea.
car works but it would run hot, found my problem! not the way i wanted to my bay is a mess, should i spray off every thing before working? i think so.
please help, i have a clue what it could be!

from that location, you have 2 possible leaks, either the gasket is leaking, or you have a hole in your intake manifold, the most likely is the gasket/s
you should be able to locate fairly easily, if you have access to a cooling sys. pressure tester, use it, if not, fill with coolant and start the car, it should leak any time the car is running due to coolant pressure/flow from the water pump, and since that is before the thermostat, you dont need to let it warm up

yes im suprised
the car was not spraying anything before i drove it off, i was filling the radiator up it must have been leaking before, and i ran the car whatching it for like 10-15 minutes, then after that i drove it to my destination findit to be spraying, then i shut down the car, and it continued to spray. i found the hole it was coming out of and it gurgled out after like 30 second of idle, i have a pic im trying to post as well, the hole is on the manifold and is in between the last to manifold bolts on the drivers side by the distib. it shoots coolant strait up, the hole is that a round little hole not tiny, but little, not a bolt hole. any help is much needed and many thanks to you guys.
it may have gurgled out slow when i was testing/looking for it because i had not filled up the system with coolant again, low coolant may have takena sec to get into the pump, or the tempostat was closed, any way im looking for so different idea of what to look for later(this sunday i hope)

clearer pic
i have a better picture!
can actually see the hole
can this be fix with out takeing off the manifold? plug it up or something, what is the basic anatomy of that area, the coolant chanel? why the heck is there a hole there, not a crack? if i can plug this up thatd be fine for now to me money is tight.

I guess you can poke at the metal around the hole, if it is solid, you may be able to run a screw into the hole to seal it temporaly
you will need a new manifold eventually though

I had a hole like that in my old mustang, it had a 4.6 and some how the mf got a little crack in it by the temp sensor. I used brake parts cleaner and a wire brush on it then jb welded it. It stayed good for awhile.
