Which way does the radiator cap go on?

The worthless chiltons book mentions putting the radiator cap on facing the right direction but doesnt tell you which way it is. The cap has 2 arrows pointing opposite directions. One says AC and one says R35 or something like that. When it is one tight the arrows point to the front and rear of the car. The question is which arrow points to the front and which to the back?

radiator cap

it shouldnt matter which arrow faces which way. either arrow should point back towards the firewall (inline with the hose that goes to the overflow tank) and the other arrow should point towards the radiator (front of the car). just make sure they point back and forth and youll be fine.

The arrows tell you which way to rotate it. It's symmetrical, so it doesn't matter which way it's put on--as long as it's on all the way.
