Help with cooling fan problem!
Ok I'm still having trouble with this. Heres the deal. The fan wont come on by the coolant temp switch. Since I have the A/C removed, I just turn on the AC and leave it on all the time so I dont overheat. Car cools perfect with the fan on, so no problems there. It will stay at 170 with a 170 stat no problem. The problem is in the damn switch or something. Relay is good, I've tested it. Wiring is good. If I unplug the wire going to the temp switch on the passenger side head, and touch it to any ground, fan turns on like a charm. Plug it back into the temp switch, wont turn on for nothing. I ran it up to 235* today to see if it would kick on, nothing. I'm sure that it is contacting the fan switch terminal too. I recently replaced the temp switch, thinking it was bad, but that didnt fix the problem. I'm at a loss, why won't it read the fan switch? Whats up?!?
Any ideas/help appreciated!

if you used anything on the threads of the switch, that is your problem, if not, maybe the connector at the fan switch is bad, spread terminal, ect.

I didnt use anything on the threads, that is for sure. I'm almost positive that the connection is good, I can feel resistance when I push the connector on (I had to make a new one because the old PED connector broke and fell off), but ya I'm pretty sure. Maybe I'll check it once more.
I'm assuming that when the switch reaches a certain temp, it grounds the wire to the block. I just dont know why it would not be doing this, I mean, the block is DEFINITELY ground. No doubt there. And the fan will work by the relay anytime it touches ground. I cant see a new fan switch being bad. This thing pisses me off haha. Is there any other way to test he switch using a MM?

The only way to test them is to heat them to whatever temp they are rated for, and see if they go to ground(allow current to pass) If not the unit is bad.
