tbc bypass

can someone tell me how to route the cooling lines to setup a throttle body coolant bypass? i have a 305 tpi engine. i know it cools the incoming air to the engine by making the plenum cooler as well as the throttle body, but would it effect the cooling properties of other engine components?

it was a very easy mod to do, and probably lowered the plenum and tb temps a few degrees and every little bit counts.

If you go to an auto parts store with a sample of the old size hose(I forget what it is)you can purchase a hose with a nice bend that will be long enough to go directly to the heater valve without the couplings MD shows. I usually log part numbers, must be age catching up.

Does not have to cold for that to happen. The right humidity and pressure difference it can happen at 70 degrees. It's unlikely but it's possible. Case in point is my one sportbike. Honda VTR-1000, 2 carbs 48mm inlets. They run the coolant through the carb bodys near the idle air passages. I bypassed it for testing and first it NEVER idled properly. Second, you could sit at a light in 80 degree temp and it would simply die. I ran into a Honda rep at a show and mentioned it and his first thought was that the idle air passages may have been icing. Hooked it back up and set it to 1200 rpm and it stays there after it warms up no matter what. I had my 89 5.7 TPI bypassed and it also seemed that the idle was a little unstable the longer it idled. Recently I did some major work and just put everything back to stock. It runs perfect, idles so smooth the tach needle never moves. Who knows?
