insulate your a/c dryer

I was walking around the chevy dealer with my buddy a few weeks ago and noticed that all the new cars have the dryers for the a/c system encased in a nice little foam house. I figuerd "why the fudge not?" makes sence...stopping the heat bellowing up from the exaust manifolds & colliding with the cold a/c system, counteracting the valiant effort of the gas guzzling compressor to keep your *** cold. Why cant I do that? So I went to the good ol' Home Depot and got some pipe insulation tape (one side sticky foam the other aluminum $5) and wrapped up the dryer. And it actualy seems a few degrees colder! For most of you this may seem usless now that fall aproaches...still rather hot in here Phx durring the day though. But something to keep in mind for next year. I only did the dryer..I think I may wrap the metal line that feeds into it too..
