Showing my ignorance

Hey guys:

The fan on my 1992 Camero RS (5.0 L) is not coming on unless I turn on the air conditioning. According to the book I have I am suppose to ground the fan switch to see if the fan comes on. If it comes on, replace the fan switch. If the fan doesn't come on the book gives direction for troubleshooting the fan relay. I suspect it is the fan switch.

The problem I have is the book I am using does not show me whare the fan switch is located, and I can't find a post describing the location, or a picture showing the fan switch location.

Can someone please describe whare the fan switch is located as I face the engine with the hood up, or maybe post a photo.

This should be an easy repair and same me some bucks by not going to a shop however, I can't find the fan switch to do the test.

Any help would appreciated

Thanks in advance
DBH

the fan switch is located on the passenger side block between the #6 and #8 spark plug.
