Intake coolant temp sensor

What is the part # for the coolant temp sensor that is in the intake? That is the one that sends a reading to the ECM right?

Reason I ask is that I think it is bad. When I put the car on the Auto-x-ray scanner the temp reading is in the 240* range when running normal. The indash guage is reading more on the lines of what I expect. In the 180* range. Even when the car has been sitting over night and I scan it before I turn it on, the coolant temp is in the 100* range. That is when the outside temp is 40*!!!

yea not sure on the part number but advance auto parts carries them.

yea the coolant temp sensor is in the front of the engine / intake manifold, its the one that read the temp and tells the computer.

it reading that high i would suspect the pasengers fan being on all the time.

Thanks!!!

So you think its just that the sensor is bad, and that is causing the problem?

yeah i would think so: two reasons

1. its reading way off what your gauage says.

2. and you know thats its not really running that hot.
