I'm stumped...
Greetings all...
Lately I've noticed something a bit weird going on. My car runs fine.. nice and strong as always. The thing that's puzzling me is this... If I drive around with the heater on (usually at night), it starts blowing colder air if I sit at a light for awhile or if I'm parked and idling. All the while, the temp gauge starts going up. The heater then starts blowing warmer and then hot once I get going again. During this time the temp gauge also goes down. There are no noticeable performance differences either.
Now I understand the cooling aspect of the temp fluctuating while driving as opposed to sitting, but what gives with my heater blowing nice and warm while driving and then basically going to cool while sitting? This just started within the last month.
Any help would be appreciated..
Chris

The only time I have seen that was on my daughters 91 lumina z34. It was air in the system. Check your coolant level at the recovery bottle. See if it goes back and forth between the "full cold" and "full hot" indicators. Make sure there is no trapped air in the system.
