What size AN stainless hose should I Use

I am plumbing an oil cooler and need to know what size to use for oil. Is -8 too small or do I need to use -10. If -8 will work it is alot cheaper. I just want to buy the parts once and not the wrong ones.

Transmission: TH400 with brake, 8" PTC converter
Axle/Gears: moser 9" 4.11
-8 is about 1/2inch. -6 is about 3/8inch etc....hope this helps.
