Need to "temp" remove AC. by myself.. advice.

I am doing an engine swap and need to disconnect my AC.. but can it be done with out losing the R12? It ain't that easy to come by anymore.. Save going to the dump and looking for 20yr old fridges

Sure, when I swapped to my 350 I just unbolted the AC compressor from the mounting bracket and pushed it over out of the way. You shouldn't have to remove any hoses or such.

Even if you do remove the lines and loose the r-12 just refill it using the r-134a kit. Can get them at any parts store.

Yeah, you should be able to move the compressor aside without any problems... Just be careful with it so you don't bend/break the hoses...

after removing Antifreeze overflow tank.. I was able to gently rotate compressor over and secure with some wire. I did have to pry up on it a bit to get it out of the bracket.. but if you go easy.. np..

thanks.
