pass. fan not working
ive searched this topic but could not find thew exact answer im looking for. my passenger side fan does not come on. i know it is activateb by that a/c sensor in the pass head between 6 & 8. my question is, when working properly, what temp should this fan turn on? i know the driver's side turns on at around 230 via the temp sensor. i am almost positive the pass side fan should turn on around 180 but i cant find any info on it. also, does anyone know what could be causing the fan not to run? bad motor or relay perhaps??
thanks

i just had the same exact problem. its the part of the ecu that controls that fan is busted. same thing happend in my 91 z28. so i have that fan rigged to a switch without using 12 volts. i have it so it grounds the relay switching on that fan.

I took my '1 Formula to the dealer about 6 weeks ago on this. The fan on the left would not come on until it gets to 220, and the dealer checked everything and they said it is normal and the second fan will not come on until it hits that temp. They put in a 180 therm. in it to and it runs cooler, but not like my other '91 with a factory 350. It runs 180 all the time. Only in severe traffic it will climb to 220, I am confused on this too. i know it is activateb by that a/c sensor in the pass head between 6 & 8.
actually its an a/c pressure switch on the a/c line and the fan switch which is between 6 & 8 cyclinders.
my question is, when working properly, what temp should this fan turn on?
stock its high like 234 or something like that.
know the driver's side turns on at around 230 via the temp sensor.
yeah around 227 ish for the drivers fan, works of the coolant temp sensor on the front of the engine.
does anyone know what could be causing the fan not to run? bad motor or relay perhaps??
get alittle temmp fan switch which will turn on like around 200 and you should be all set.
reasons for hte fan not to work burnt motor, just hook 12 volts directly to it to see if it works.
bad relay could be another reason. if ur drivers side works just swap relays and see if its works.
