Jet Fan Switch

Hello,

I just recently bought a jet fan switch to go along with a new computer chip and stat, and I cant find the switch on the engine. I contacted Jet and they told me it was on the passenger side of the engine bettween 6 & 8. Im guessing its on the engine block? I was reading some posts here and I read that there was also a fan relay switch around the same place? If there is how do I tell the diffrence? Specifics on the location of the fan switch would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Get your car on ramps ,Slide under neath to the passenger's side of the block. Look at the side cylinder head between the last two cylinders wich are number 6 and number 8 cylinders. Its going to be kinda hard to see because the nose of your starter will be right lined up with sensor but it screws into the side of the cylinder head.
The easiest way to do this is to disconnect your battery then drop your starter and get it out of the way. then you can really see what your doing.

Thanks for the detailed description. I'm pretty sure I've located it now. Its between 6 & 8 right under the exaust manifold correct, right near the spark plugs? I saw another sensor under there that looked similar but was way lower, just above the oil pan lined up with the other sensor, and right in front of the starter, from your descripton that could be it also? the one up by the spark plugs has a black plastic cap which was not even on the sensor and exploded into 20 peices when I tried to put it back on. The sensor in front of the starter has a white plastic cap. At least I've narrowed it down to two possiblities now. Any help on which one it is would be great, Thanks.

You are correct on the location of the fan switch (the sensor with the black plastic cap, as you said). Other sensor that you mentioned (the one with the white plastic cap) is the knock sensor.

Yes its between 6 & 8 cylinders on top the other sensor is the knock sensor wich is at the bottom of the block between 4 & 6 cylinders. You can also take the new temp sensor and make a visual comparison. Unfortuantely heat bakes the plastic housing wich surounds the pin in the centor of the sensor. I also used wire ties to keep the wires from wondering too close to my headers to keep them from frying.
Removing your starter will seem like a huge pain in the a$$ but it will make your job a breeze.
