Flushing Cooling System

Im going to flush my cooling system out next weekend im using the super radiator cleaner prestone makes. You are susposto drain the radiator pour this stuff in and then drive with it in the car for about 6 hours over a peroid of a week. Does this stuff work pretty well? I want to flush the dexCRAP out of my car and go back to the green stuff. I also over heat when my ac is on so i think this might help.

When i go to drain the cleaner out of the car someone said to disconnect the upper radiator hose and with the car somewhat warm so the T stat is open turn the car on put a hose in the radiator and let it circulate through my cooling system to flush everything that is left out. Does that seem correct?

Is there any one brand of radiator fluid that is better then another im leaning tords the prestone quickfill 50/50 because of it being pre mixed. Or the Maxlife radiator fluid that is susposto condition seales ETC. I use the Maxlife motor oil and have seen good results with that.
