Lower radiator hose- spring inside or not?

I am swapping a 350 into my wife's 92 RS that originally came with the 305 TBI. Putting on the lower rad hose I noted that there was no anti-collapse spring inside. I don't recall if it was ever supposed to have one on a 3rd gen or not. L'il help here?

This car has 197K miles on it so I'm not trusting that somebody didn't take it out at some point when they replaced the hoses (probably several times in the car's life).

Of all the ones I've bought, all but two had them. One of the ones that did not had a little 'issue' with its structural integrity. I now ask before I go to pick up the part. If not, I'll call someplace else.

Thanks, Red. I called my local parts place and made them check for the spring before I ran down there. The Gates replacement hose comes with the spring inside regardless of application- 5.0 TBI, 5.0 TPI or 5.7 TPI. Glad I checked. Nothing more disheartening than to have a brand new motor overheat on you the first time you take it for a spin on the highway.
