rad pressure

when my 84 z28 gets up to temp the upper rad hose gets alot of pressure in it. i can't even squeeze it close. Is this normal? also on my temp gauge there are three numbers, 100 220 and 260. there is also a line between 100-220 and one between 220-260. my temp gets alittle above the line between 100 and 220. is this a good temp? thanks in advance
