Be Cool custom fit?...

For anyone who is using a Be Cool custom fit radiator – how well did it actually fit? Did it pretty much drop in or was there some modification needed?

I'm looking at buying a "specific fit" radiator that has the same dimensions as the Be Cool and I'm trying to determine if it will work without cutting up the car in any way. Most of these aftermarket radiators are 3" thick. The factory radiator is something like 2.5" thick.

TIA

They fit really tight. the tanks are narrow and taper towards the bottom (frame rail area) to allow a wider than normal core to be used. They come with an aluminum sheet metal spacer (goes between rad support and factory shroud) to lay back the radiator at the top, to allow for condenser clearance. Since my car doesn't have AC, I didn't have to put this in. Also, I didn't have to modify anything to make it fit. While the tanks are pretty thick, the core is under 3" (I don't have specific dimentions readily available at this time). It's an expensive piece, but I'm quite happy with mine.

same exact problems i had....i didn't even use their bracket though as it was of no use really. the hardlines were not fun to deal with. the worst was getting the proper fitting adapter for the heater return hose. if you don't mind using the steel version the "help" section at any autoparts will have it. all 6 in my area happened to be sold out however and everyone who was working there kept refering me to a hardware store or telling me that it was something that had to be custom made so i ran around for 2 days trying to figure it out.

overall though i drove it through heavy traffic yesterday and today and it works excellent. once the car comes close to 220 on the temp guage you can watch it drop quicker then my gas guage which is very exciting.

so far i highly recommend the radiator on how it works, just be prepared to do some work to get the direct unit to fit.

what i would like to know though would be the use of aftermarket fans. what works/what doesn't. my stock ones were able to fit after some work but i don't like how they work. i'd like to have something better.
