quick sensor placement question

quick sensor placement question

Im looking for the sensor that the temp guage uses. is it the same that the fans use? where are both? i seem to get every sensor on the block confused.

Axle/Gears: 3.42
The coolant temp sending unit (what the gauge uses to show temp) is located on the driver's side cylinder head in between the #1 and #3 spark plugs. The fan switch is located on the passenger side cylinder head in between the #6 and #8 spark plugs.
