air conditioning systems

alright my ac only worked for 3 months after i got my car now i have to have my windows down so i dont die. i took my car in charged me 80 bucks to put some !?freon!? in and then the compressor started turning but it makes funny loud noises;. i was wondering if its worth getting fixed or upgraded to the new a/c system being that new freon or whatever its called is cheaper. if so on both cases what do i need to order to get everything running again (which is colder???)

alright enough with all my questions ill see what u all gotta say on this..

If your are losing freon you have a leak somewhere. That should have been fixed before more freon was added. It also sounds like your compressor is on its way out. As for which is colder or better or whatever, do a search. Youll find that just about everyone here has a different opinion.
