Is it okay to put a mechanical temp gauge sender into the water pump plugged hole??!!
I've got an Edelbrock water pump that has a plug on the top. I guess it is supposed to be for a heater hose, which I don't have(not using a heater I live in FL). I also have 2 ports on my Edelbrock heads, but I am saving those for left and right cylinder head temp gauges. It is safe to put the sender in that water pump port or will the impeller shred the sender? Will the water pump cause any fluxuations in the readout of the gauge due to the coolant flowing rapidly out of the pump? I'm using an RPM air gap manifold so I don't have any sender locations there either, just one behind the carb which I am going to use for intake air temp(I'm a gauge ***** can you tell?) Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Paul Moore

Normally, I would put it in the water neck, but I have one of those 360 degree swivel filler necks from CSR and it only has a 1/8 NPT fitting for a coolant overflow catch can.
