190* Fan Switch???
190* Fan Switch???
Does anybody make a 190* fan switch for our cars? If not is there a how-to on modifying the stock switch with a resister of something?
All the fan switchs I find kick on at either 170 or 200 and I have a 180* thermostat. My primary fan kicks on at 185 and I want a switch to kick on secondary on at 190...

Might put a switch in the rear head. Runs hotter back there. I put a 200 degree in mine and it kicked the fans on before the 180 degree thermostat even opened, fans ran all the time. Might be just right for you. I would up putting an adjustable switch with a probe that goes on the radiator, get the fan on at whatever temp I want.

You might want to ask Grumpy but if you are refering to the fan switch in the passanger side head, One for a grand national Comes on at a lower temp IIRC.

There's some options for ya... I think you'll probably want to set your enable temps a little higher than that.. You won't ever cool down to the point to where the fans will shut off if you set your enable temps that low with a 180* thermostat.. I'd stick with a 200* enable and 190 disable so you don't wear out your fans/alternator.

Thanks!
I have stock fans right now and I'm installing a twin aftermarket fan setup, which is in my garage right now, in a few weeks because I needed more clearance for a cog belt drive. I'm more than sure the aftermarket fans can handle it, they are the best brand to begin with. Second, my car like to be at a consistant 185*, any hotter and I start to suffer a little in acceleration. I want my fans set up so that it never gets above 190* at the most...
