Why the noisy heater core?

Sounds like a faucet running(loud trickling) under my dash now... Could my thermostat be stuck wide open?

Normally, low coolant. Need to take off the radiator cap and check level in radiator, could be a bad cap and not pulling from the plastic tank.

I was hearing that crap for a while on my car. Than one day I went and I raced a "cavalier" (smoked him like no other, Fast and Furious step aside). Guess what??? My heater core blew!! I was pissed and I remeber hearing that ticking noise from the heater core more prominantley two days before it blew. Its something to check. If you have the stock one there, I would advise you to change it anyway cuz they are a bit weak. Its a bit of a pain in the ***, but with patience you will do it. Than you will have nothing to worry about!!!
